9. Conclusion
Post-colonial novels in Indian writing in english is my second book on an interdisciplinary study, especially history- fiction nexus. Unlike the first book, novel as history : A study of post-colonial Indian Novels, which was more a theeoritical one discussing the form of writing in history and novel, this second book is more a sociological one because of its focus on the post - colonial Indian novels in english depicting the human condition in the so called postcolonial society, where expectations of freedom from the colonial clamps are high but unfortunately the post-colonial people do not feel so in a violence-ridden, division-driven, crime-cuffed, inequality-entrenched society. Therefore, though the postcolonial aspect is a much talked-about aspect like a cliche in the modern novel, this aspect has not lost its significance or modern relevance.
